About Me

My photo
We love to take family road trips - Dave, Susan, Morgan, Kendra and Kody when he can go too. We collect state magnets so we know what states we have been to, so we can plan the next vacation. I (Susan, mostly) am going to (try to) use this to share our family adventures. Vacations, events, and such. So needless to say, there won't be daily entries, and maybe not even monthly, but I'll post something, along with pictures, from time to time. So, if you're so inclined, check back once in a while.

Getting ready

Well, with a few clouds and a slight breeze, the weather is PERFECT for getting the tent trailer ready for the summer! This year we won't be taking the 2 week-er like we have the last couple of years. We're considering maybe a few 3-4 day week ends all summer. That, and a week in Durango. Our trailer is well-used - M&D had it for the first 15 years or so, and we've had the last 2 or 3. It needs a bit of TLC - but not too much, so it won't be labor extensive to get it ready to go. In its 18 years if life, this trailer had been all over the place - many thousand miles. With it's home base in AZ, it's been to Michigan a few times; Maine via Florida, Yellowstone at least 3 times; Colorado a FEW times; up the CA coast to Washington; and also up to Canada. When M&D owned it we borrowed it too, so their vacations, and ours put a boat load of miles on it. So the few minor repairs we're having to do is quite amazing for an 18 year old trailer.

Kody is outside with us keeping an eye on things - not only the neighborhood, but where we are as well. If we're in the trailer, he's watching for us to come out. If we're out of it, he's blocking the door to the house so he knows where we are at all times. Dave had to make a run to the hardware store - here's Kody waiting for him to get back.

We're also trying to decide when the girls will be going to Greer. So between a week each at camp, and our camping trip, it's going to be interesting to see when all this traveling will be happening. We try to plan it all so there isn't a lot of time home being bored for them.
