The Lightburnes
About Me

- Moke, Mom and Dad - The Lightburne Family
- We love to take family road trips - Dave, Susan, Morgan, Kendra and Kody when he can go too. We collect state magnets so we know what states we have been to, so we can plan the next vacation. I (Susan, mostly) am going to (try to) use this to share our family adventures. Vacations, events, and such. So needless to say, there won't be daily entries, and maybe not even monthly, but I'll post something, along with pictures, from time to time. So, if you're so inclined, check back once in a while.

Serious Drama
So there's a class of music students. They are acting out a play. 3 students are seated at a table. #1, #2, and #3. Teacher is standing behind #2. #2 is supposed to kidnap teacher. Of course, being seated at a table, this doesn't really happen, and only the lines are read. One would think, anyway. Teacher tries to get away from #2, the kidnapper. Beats on the back of #2 - closed fist (10-15 times) - so hard #2 has to say "Stop that really hurts" and leans forward to try to get away. Teacher does not stop. #1 reaches over to try to stop Teacher - "You're really hurting her" When the play is over, #2 goes to the nurse. Even 90 minutes later, red marks are still visible on #2's back. So now tell me...why does Teacher still have a job, and why doesn't AZ charge with a lesser 'crime' than what is originally investigated? Assault was investigated. Didn't have proof of intent to cause harm. But why not negligence or endangerment? Teacher said "I got carried away" Hmmm - that would be negligence. And we as parents trust that the teachers will protect our kids as we would...endangerment. So that tells the kids...that getting carried away is a valid reason for hurting someone - even one entrusted to our care. Haven't found a lawyer yet who is willing to even touch this one, either!
