We lost Dave's Dad last Saturday, June 13th. Today ranks right up there as one of the roughest days since his passing. Still too fresh...we really miss him. But we went to the cemetary and left some flowers and a card. Stayed a bit and sat on a bench by the lake he's near and watched the turtles and swan. He had done that with Mom a month or so before his passing, so we knew he'd be there.
Dad taught his children well. I couldn't ask for a better Dad for my kids than Dave. I see a lot of his dad in him, and that's just fine with me.
Here's to the Dads out there - any and all of you reading this. If you still have yours, give him a big hug and tell him you love him. If you don't, keep him in your heart and go visit his final resting place, if you can.

About Me

- Moke, Mom and Dad - The Lightburne Family
- We love to take family road trips - Dave, Susan, Morgan, Kendra and Kody when he can go too. We collect state magnets so we know what states we have been to, so we can plan the next vacation. I (Susan, mostly) am going to (try to) use this to share our family adventures. Vacations, events, and such. So needless to say, there won't be daily entries, and maybe not even monthly, but I'll post something, along with pictures, from time to time. So, if you're so inclined, check back once in a while.

I was thinking of your family today and hoping that you would survive it alright. It is hard when things are so fresh, and even when they are not. You will always miss him, and it will probably hit you at some of the strangest times. We love and miss you all. Take care of each other!
