The Lightburnes
About Me

- Moke, Mom and Dad - The Lightburne Family
- We love to take family road trips - Dave, Susan, Morgan, Kendra and Kody when he can go too. We collect state magnets so we know what states we have been to, so we can plan the next vacation. I (Susan, mostly) am going to (try to) use this to share our family adventures. Vacations, events, and such. So needless to say, there won't be daily entries, and maybe not even monthly, but I'll post something, along with pictures, from time to time. So, if you're so inclined, check back once in a while.

NASCAR Weekend
We are exhausted! Dave and I volunteered with the Red Cross to work at the Red Cross Racing booth at the NASCAR race this week-end. Not just one race - 3 races, 3 days. For each day, we got a ticket to the race. Yes - we stayed for the races. That was my first race - and Dave's umpteenth, but he hasn't been in a few years. The booth consisted of promoting blood donations, (and other Red Cross services, like their mobile kitchen where they can serve 30000 meals a day) and RedCrossRacing.com, where you can earn points toward NASCAR merchandise through inviting friends to join, and all your Red Cross blood donations. We stuck stickers on people, registered them for a trip to a race next season, played Plinko, A bean bag toss, and even gave away shirts, hats, lanyards, and 20 autographs from Greg Biffle. He was there signing them - up close and personal. I didn't get one, but I saw him, and took his picture. I'm a fan - and really wanted his autograph, but we weren't allowed. We just had so much fun. I am very hoarse today because of talking over very loud music and very loud cars, trying to tell our guests where to go next. When I get my pictures sorted out, I'll post them. I might even see if I can get one of my movies posted. The start of a race is such a rush! And Carl Edwards won the race Saturday - he does a back flip out his window when he wins - have it on video! It was such an awesome week-end.
